ProCommander® Series

Solid State Show Controllers

The ProCommander® Series features solid-state show controllers built for playback of synchronous audio, video, animation, lighting, and mechanical action. The controllers’ flexible architecture options and open control protocols allow inspired attractions to be designed without hardware limitations.

Designed for daily operation in harsh environments, ProCommanders® are built to run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Shows can be set to loop on power-up; be triggered internally by other timelines, digital or analog inputs; wait to sync with incoming SMPTE timecode; or simply begin from a UDP command via a touchscreen or theater automation system.

The ProCommander LX2 is a full-functioned, multi-scene, multi-channel playback controller. Capable of up to 16 channels of synced playback or 8 independent stereo zones, this device can power a large theater show or an entire museum of independently zoned show playback.

ProCommander LX

Building off the ProCommander 2®, the LX starts with digital, analog, serial, and UDP inputs and outputs. It adds an asynchronous universe of DMX input and output, and it can add, merge, combine or take over DMX values from any of its multiple internal shows, as well as incoming DMX values from a DMX console or environmental lighting system. These features allow for complex integration opportunities.

When it comes to managing large synchronized shows, the LX has no match. Either sourcing 16 channels of audio and SMPTE or synchronizing multiple zones of animation, lighting and show action through incoming SMPTE, complex show control has never been better.

Elevate your experience with X Series:

ProCommander® original series are the ones that started it all. We continue to sell, support and service nearly every model of ProCommander® we’ve built. In 2018, we expanded upon this and released the X Series controllers, now including polyphony, 16-Universes of sACN and Art-Net and the ability to be used directly as a CANOpen master.

In early 2020, these controllers were expanded even further to include PTP, FSK, MTC, Art-Net and AES-67. We also replaced the ProCommander® LTC with the new ProCommander® VX for dual 1080p or 4k video. Both series of show controllers continue to serve unique and varied markets accordingly.

Advanced Sync and Playback

Timecode and network management

Remote Show Management:

ProCommanders® are configurable through our free Hardware Configurator, replacing complicated command prompts with a simple user interface. For more advanced programming, you can use a supported timeline programming application to program and playback synchronous audio, video, animation and lighting.

An asynchronous command structure employs UDP messaging through simple ASCII and HEX commands, opening integration possibilities to nearly any available system—and enabling you to build innovative, interactive exhibits.

Timecode Sync:

Select ProCommander® controllers (ProCommander® 4, ProCommander® 16 & legacy PHX/LX) support show sync via timecode. Mix, match and regenerate network (MTC, Art-Net) and audio formats (LTC, FSK). Shows can edge trigger, or jam-sync with ease-in. Jump forwards or backwards from external time commands and the show tracks as expected. Use a ProCommander® as a timecode master to generate or re-generate timecode for other systems to follow.

In rehearsals? Showforge® and Conductor both track their timelines to device SMPTE or direct connections to each programming machine (Timeline applications support network timecode formats only without external hardware, limitations may apply). Connect multiple ProCommanders® through any of these common industry standards to expand your show and output abilities.

Once a show is programmed, ProCommanders® can store all shows on a single memory card. All shows can be managed by either the onboard serial ports or through our bi-directional WEM | Script™ command protocol via UDP.
